A Mansions and Millions newsletter
new signing Meagre Martin, J. Vague - SILVER, new tapes, some press about the label

Intro
As always, thank you very much for reading this newsletter. I don’t send it out very often (some companies send out two a day, it’s wild) but a lot has happened since I last sent one so I feel like it’s a good time to send you an update. We signed a new band (Meagre Martin), we released an album in February (J. Vague), we were featured in the news, we have some new tapes and there is more to tell!
Anyways, I don't want this newsletter to end up in your spam folder. So, do me a favor and maybe move it to your priority box? And if you feel like it, shoot me a reply. I swear it won't be some automated message from a robot, it’s gonna be me.
Oh, and if you wanna stay in the loop, we've got a Telegram channel (don't worry, we won't be blowing up your phone) and Instagram and Twitter accounts and there also is a Spotify playlist with recent releases + label highlights.
Trying to connect with people these days has gotten pretty tough but we're determined to build meaningful connections with our fans. No algorithms needed.
new signing Meagre Martin + new single
So, I'm out here in Berlin, catching shows, meeting people, and occasionally stumbling upon a band that completely blows my mind. And let me tell you, Meagre Martin is that band.
This trio of talented Americans - Sarah, Max, and Freddy - are the latest addition to the label, and they're about to become your new favorite indie band. They just released their first single “All My Thoughts” and GoldFlakePaint was so nice to give a premiere - sweet!
If you live in Berlin, you can see them play at the Pop-Kultur Festival in August but I have a feeling they’ll hit a road later this year going to other places as well. There might even be some more new music, who knows?

J. Vague - SILVER out now
In case you missed it: in late February we released J. Vague's debut album, SILVER. You may remember his debut EP, "New Life," which came out in 2020. His new release SILVER is an unapologetic pop album that seamlessly blends different musical styles and eras, with every song taking you on a journey of self-discovery and a search for belonging.
The vinyl version of SILVER is also now available for purchase, limited to just 150 copies and hand spray-painted on both sides, making it a unique and special addition to your collection.
J. Vague is a multidisciplinary artist who has crafted an album that is pure pop music, yet still feels contemporary and full of desire. SILVER is a commitment to collaboration with friends and companions, and the collective creative process creates a space for J. Vague to dive wholeheartedly into pop music, into its big gestures and glittery unrestrained-ness.
Don't miss out on the chance to catch J. Vague at the Pop-Kultur festival in Berlin this August!

we’re not lying about them being hand spray-painted

looking good, no?
M&M in the media
Some other nice stuff happened since we last talked. Bandcamp featured the label in their latest “Tape Label Report” (even though we’re not exclusively a tape label). They told the story of how the label started, the kind of music I put out, and gave a special shoutout to the latest mixtape (Volume 5), which seems to be a hit. The first batch sold out, but we made more, so get your copy now!

some of what Bandcamp wrote about M&M
On another note, the Bandcamp staff is in the process of unionizing (which is a good thing!), but the company that bought it last year, the maaaaaassive Epic Games, doesn't seem too happy about it (which is a bummer!). We support the Bandcamp staff and hope they get their seat at the table.
Also, Die Zeit, a big German weekly newspaper, did a piece on the struggles of running an indie label in 2023 (which I know a thing or two about) and they gave me a chance to share my opinion on the matter.
some new (and old) Tapes + cheaper US shipping
Speaking of tapes: a few tapes M&M made we’re sold out - such as the first John Moods album, our third mixtape featuring beautiful artwork by Molly Dyson and as mentioned, the fifth edition of our mixtape series. So I just made more copies, you’ll hear it here first. Cool.
On top of that, the latest John Moods album, The Great Design, is now also available on tape for the first time and it looks beautiful even in a tape format.
We were also able to significantly lower shipping to the US again (and other international destinations), so if you were deterred by how much it was last time you check, maybe check again and we can be back in business again!

Discovery Zone - Dance II featured in “Sick Of Myself”
We are always happy when music from out catalogue is being used for movies and TV shows (like that great placement of John Moods’ Dance With The Night in that High Fidelity series). This time, the song “Dance II” by Discovery Zone (which recently hit a million streams on Spotify - not bad) was used in the the amazing Norwegian movie “Sick Of Myself”!
